I know I’m late to the party but I don’t understand the framing of the dilemma. I can’t think of anything more optimistic than owning a minority stake in a business and hoping they continue create goods and services valued by yet another set of strangers.

I’m not commenting on charity as I think that is a prerequisite for “doing things right”

I guess I was just really shocked by the idea that owning business and loaning businesses funds was somehow hoarded, stagnant wealth. I reserve that classification vacant apartments owned in global cities

10%! Wow, that's amazing, Lissa.

I love the generosity—and the intentionality. It's one thing to give, but another to be so deliberate/thoughtful about it.

My "hack" for this is to automate small monthly donations to my favourite charities. Charitable reps, I guess.

I'm a long ways off donating 10% of my income, but something I aspire to one day.

You set a high—and inspiring—bar !

Back in my Catholic church days, they'd hand around a collection plate. Doubt my family was giving 10% of household income though.

Do you aim for 10% with your giving, Lissa?
